Member Spotlight: Dennise Kowalczyk
PRSA/SENE is made up of so many great members doing extraordinary things that we want to share their stories with everybody with our new member spotlight series. It allows us to showcase these individuals and what they're up to and to spark connection and collaboration among our members.
Our first spotlight is shining on Dennise Kowalczyk, digital marketing advisor at CTD Creative Consulting LLC.
Where do you work?
I own and operate my own business - CTD Creative Consulting LLC - as a digital marketing advisor for women entrepreneurs. I support these growing businesses by helping them leverage their digital presence to build long-term relationships with their online community. I conduct digital presence evaluations to identify opportunities for more relationship-building online and create plans to execute those ideas. Several of my clients also work with me to manage their digital presence.
Can you tell us a little bit about your career?
I am a multipotentialite and have enjoyed a varied career ranging from the private sector to nonprofit work to running my own business. Back in the day, I worked at several non-commercial media outlets. The common thread in all of my work in the world includes some form of communications strategy and also activities that are focused on developing long-term relationships with an audience.
What have you worked on that has left you feeling most proud?
Recently, I supported a client who was diagnosed with cancer and we needed to communicate with her customers about how their accounts would be managed. I am proud of this because it helped not only my client feel supported, but she also felt empowered to set up business activities with her team to manage things while she underwent treatment and it also helped her own clients feel taken care of during an uncertain time.
What do you enjoy most about being part of the SENE communications community?
As a 'newbie' to Rhode Island, I am still meeting many people and it is a great treat to learn about my new community. I am very grateful to all of those individuals who have taken the time to chat with me so I can learn all that I can about the area and participate in sharing resources with others.
What do you hope to accomplish as part of the PRSA community?
I am hoping to learn about new trends in PR and also serve as a hub of resources for others in the world of communications. I've learned that the more we do together, the more good we can do in the world. I love connecting people to each other and other resources - it brings me a lot of joy! For example, I offer a free information session that features interviews with other experts in the digital space and a networking opportunity called the Digi Dialogue Roundtable Info Sessions.
