Evaluating Emerging Social Media - A Panel Discussion

Social media is constantly changing — what platforms are on the rise? When should we be ready to launch a new channel? How can we advise our clients and colleagues where they should go next?
Social media platforms are a daily part of our personal and professional lives. They help us connect with our networks, reach their audiences, and drive business results. We are familiar with Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter, but what about the new platforms that are gaining traction? How do we know which platforms are worth the investment of our time and resources?
PRSA/SENE invites you to join us for a panel discussion on emerging social media platforms. We will learn from a diverse panel of social media experts who will explore emerging platforms with us and provide us with tools to understand how the social media industry is evolving each year.
Don’t miss your chance to network with fellow PR/communications peers and hear from a talented lineup of industry professionals!

He is a Senior Account Director at Sunshine Sachs, a top national communications firm, where he leads the firm’s sports division. He also teaches in the Sports Media and Communication program at the University of Rhode Island. Peter is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts where he holds a B.A. in Sports Management and New York University where he earned his Master’s degree in Public Relations and Corporate Communication.
Liz Kay

https://www.linkedin.com/in/lizkay/
Liz Kay manages social media for Providence College, a private Catholic institution in Providence, R.I., where she counsels others on best practices online. Before transitioning to higher education, she worked as a reporter for The Baltimore Sun and the Los Angeles Times.
Shay Weintraub
Content Creator at Trailblaze Marketing
@vanillashayfer
linkedin.com/in/shaina-weintraub-6861ba106/
Shay Weintraub (she/her/hers) is a Content Creator for Trailblaze Marketing in Providence, RI - an unexpected twist for someone who is paying student loans on an American History B.A. right now. While she’s new to the Social Media Marketing sphere, Shay has experience managing accounts for a non-profit, a municipal archive, and two losing political campaigns (third time’s the charm!). Shay’s CliftonStrengths - Woo, Communication, Positivity, Adaptability, Includer - are not only an incredibly accurate assessment on what she brings to the table, but they’re also her favorite segue into talking about the legitimacy of astrology. In her free time, Shay likes to go for long walks, shop at Target, and remind herself that she cannot live on cold brew alone and has to drink at least one glass of water per day.
