PRSA APR Accreditation
The voluntary Accredited in Public Relations (APR) certification program for public relations professionals aims to unify and advance the profession by identifying those who have demonstrated their knowledge, experience and judgment in planning and managing public relations activities. Successful completion of the Accreditation process results in the awarding of the APR designation to qualified public relations professionals.
APR candidates who meet established criteria can begin pursuing Accreditation at any time. But, it is a good idea to possess at least five years of experience in the profession and to allocate around a year to study and complete the requirements needed to advance through the process. Many APR candidates combine self-study with some kind of group instruction, such as training offered by many PRSA Chapters.
